Viking Secret Wildcard Poker Add-on Deck
This page deals with cards from the game Phase 10 as they pertain to the rules of Viking Secret Wildcard Poker.

Overview

Phase 10 cards ....

Card Descriptions

There are 3 card types and 4 card colors.

  • Cards
    • Numbers
    • Wild
    • Skip
  • Colors
    • Red
    • Blue
    • Green
    • Yellow

Setup

The cards are shuffled into the general deck by the dealer at the beginning of the game. The phase 10 deck is large, so a subset is recommended to play with.

Rules

Ranked Cards

Unless otherwise specified, Numbered cards from a Phase 10 card deck have a rank equal to their number. (The red 5 has a rank of five; the green 12 has a rank of twelve.)

Numbered cards of the same color in a player's final five-card hand are added together and then squared. If you're playing with the Uno expansion, Uno cards of the same color are added to this total.

  • Example: the hand (Diamond 10, Phase10 Green 9, Clubs King, Phase10 Green 1, Uno Green 5)
    • Greens are added together then raised
    • (9+1+5)^2 = 225
    • Now apply the rest of the base game scoring
    • (225+10(diamond)) x 4(king) = 940

Special Effect Cards

Wild

A wild card is equal to the highest rank in a player's final five-card hand, and is any color.

  • Example: the hand (Diamond 10, Phase10 Green 9, Wild, Phase10 Green 1, Uno Green 5)
    • Wild takes the rank of 10 from the 10 of Diamonds
    • Wild is any color, so it can be added to Green
    • (9+10(wild)+1+5)^2 = 625
    • Now apply the rest of the base game scoring
    • 625+10(diamond) = 635

    • Any multiplier card that does not have a rank becomes rank 10 and is any color for that round.

Skip

  1. Dealt to a player as one of their Pit cards:
    • the player must immediately reveal it and fold.
  2. Dealt as either the Knuckle card or in the Flaps:
    • betting is skipped and the next round in play proceeds to either the Flaps or the Pants.
  3. Dealt as the Pants card:
    • Each player loses one card of their choice from their Pit.

Combos

  • If all cards in a player's final five-card hand are the same color, the hand gets a x10 multiplier.
  • If two Skip cards show up in the community cards, the round ends and the pot is split evenly.
