Derek is a "summer" intern at QWRP who conducts most of the station's offsite interviews. Derek is neither the brightest nor the most experienced intern, although his Nsburg Career Center aptitude results did peg his ideal career as "radio intern." Derek often has trouble operating his equipment, and even when he does manage to set up a live interview, he generally has trouble asking questions and/or understanding the answers. Derek's behavior and general incompetence annoys Graham and Alex (especially Alex). Derek may be getting better at his job, but it's a game of inches. He often charges expenses to the radio station despite being repeatedly told he's not allowed to do so.

After Richard Therpston perished during his interview, Derek became convinced that he's haunted by the soul of the late aldersm'n. No word yet on whether this is accurate.
